Best Alternative to high priced Title 2 Machineguns
Bump Firing
I recently submitted a letter to the BATF asking about the legality of bump firing semi auto firearm in order to simulate fully automatic. About two months later I received a letter back. The basically states that bump firing is not defined in the NFA , and for the present time the Firearms Technology Branch regards bump firing as rapid manual trigger manipulation to simulate fully automatic fire. As long as the shooter must consciously pull the trigger for every round fired, the shooter is simply firing the gun in a rapid manner. Bump firing is a learned technique, that can be done to most semi automatic rifles and pistols without any external or internal modification. Altering the internal fire controls of a weapon can result in that firearm being confiscated by the BATF for examination. Most people you will see bump firing will be using the low at the hip method. This method will result in poor control and poor accuracy! This way of bump firing is potentially dangerous, and should not be attempted. With a little bit of practice you can shoulder your rifle, and still bump fire your gun.
Most people I have talked to that own AR15 rifles have heard of the Hell fire trigger / Tac- Trigger attachments, sold at most gun shows all over the country. With the hellfire device, a trigger stop and spring are used to vibrate the trigger against the trigger finger. A rhythm and loose grip are required. The device depends on a relatively stationary trigger finger and utilizes recoil and isometric tension to create movement of the counter recoiling rifle against the trigger finger to initiate a rapid succession of semiautomatic shots. This technique is known as "bump firing," as uses the forward isometric tension of the shooter's supporting hand to "bump" the trigger into the shooter's finger again after it recoils from the previous shot. The recoil is countered via isometric tension." and it gives the illusion of functioning as a machinegun. These devices are currently sold at gun shows for about $39.00
They are not worth the money they want for them because your gun can be bump fired without one of these devices.
Rubber Band Assisted Bump Fire
The rubber band assisted bump fire technique is pretty much self explanatory, you are using the rubber band to assist with the technique of bump firing. The rubber band I used in my videos...... apply pressure to the back of the trigger by means of pulling the trigger forward when lassoed on the trigger, stretched around the mag well and lassoed again on the trigger via the other side of the gun! Tac Trigger pushes your trigger forward, a rubber band pulls your trigger forward, both will force your trigger to reset quicker. In the video below I am shouldering my rifle normally. To bump fire from this position I simply release my grip with my right hand leaving only my trigger finger on the trigger. Then I simply pull the rifle forward off my shoulder ever so slightly, and into my finger. It is important that your leave the distance between your finger and your shoulder the same. Pull the gun into your finger until the hammer releases.
